Operation Provide Hope Container

On Saturday, December 3, 2005 UUARC loaded a container for shipment to the Lviv area. Besides the 50 parcels being sent to UUARC, Lviv, 88 parcels are going to the Greek Catholic Church in Drohobych rayon, the village of Popeli; 50 parcels to “Ukrainska Rodyna” NGO in Ternopil; 13 to “Nadia” Thrift Store at Internat #6 in Lviv; 78 parcels to the village Rada in Nobel, Rivenska oblast; and 50 parcels to the Sister of St. Basil in Lviv.

Twelve volunteers joined UUARC staff and board members on that cold and blustery day and loaded the container in record time! This shipment was funded by the US State Department through Counterpart, International’s Operation Provide Hope, as one of the container shipments dedicated to commemorating the 20th Annniversary of the Chornobyl Nuclear Disaster.

We would like to thank all the volunteers who put forth the time and effort to help: Boris Yarymovych, Marko Yarymovych, Alexander Yarymovych, Vanessa Yarymovych, Ihor Bilynsky, William Hubiak, Roman Iwaskiw, Ewhen Kyj, Ihor Melnyk, Mykola Kosyk, Taras Laszyn and Viktoriya Yadlovska. The Board Members present were, Larissa Kyj, Luba Siletsky, Lew Iwaskiw, Pawlo Prinko and Petro Kosyk.
